Most often, a musician is asked to add sound to animation that is already done, or the idea for which is generated by the animator. In this assignment, students were asked to create their own music or find an outside source, and then "visualize" it, relying on elements such as rhythm, texture, tempo, phrasing, counterpoint, etc., and finding ways to express these things through imagery.
