A few images of students getting the hang of sand after watching work by Caroline Leaf, Ben Zelkowicz, Alexander Petrov, Wendy Tilby (paint on glass), and a few others. Assignments to come on Thursday. Sand provides the artist with great opportunities within great constraint: shading/blending, silhouette, storytelling, and strict character movement or the freedom of morphing...nothing but you, a pile of sand, your hands, and your imagination.
